Swiss Music Boxes
The principle of mechanical music was discovered in 1796 by the Swiss watch maker Antoine Favre, and has always been used in the creation of musical movements.
Careful hand crafting and the vibrating steel comb remain integral parts of the production of these movements, some of which have of over 1000 components.
With watch making precision and the greatest expertise, 18, 36, 50, and 72 note movements of the highest quality in aesthetics and sound will be developed and produced.
For over 170 years, the knowledge of music box production has been passed on from generation to generation and cultivated with respect and conscientiousness.
With a great love of detail, and much manual dexterity and experience, pieces of wood are carefully selected and gently dried to be turned into music boxes of a special kind. The music boxes receive their unique and complete sound characteristics through the deliberate use of different combinations and densities of woods.
